Description:
This position requires the student to perform basic administrative duties to assist with the mission and purpose of Guest Services. These duties include, but are not limited to: phone calls and emails relating to event coordination on the SUU campus. The student will mainly be responsible for coordinating events in the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center, but may also assist with events scheduled elsewhere on campus, on a limited basis. Student will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Guest Services and the Guest Services Event Coordinator with large non-campus events scheduled on the SUU campus. Student will be required to work with both Astra Scheduling and QuickBooks programs. This position requires a strong commitment to excellence, good time management, multi-tasking, dependability, and strong attention to details. This is a fast-paced office environment, with times of high stress.

- Must be well organized with strong attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable communicating in a professional manner by phone, email, and in person.
- Must be able to work well with faculty, staff, student peers and community members.
- Must have excellent verbal, spelling and grammatical skills.
- Must be able to take direction, work independently, and as a team.
- Must be self-motivated and complete tasks with frequent deadlines.
- Professional mannerism and dress is expected.
- Maintain the ability to see an event from start to finish, with good time-management skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be a quick learner.
- Successful applicant must be able to learn Astra Scheduling and basic QuickBooks programs.
- Knowledge of campus facilities is helpful. Prior event coordination experience is a plus.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, often high-stress office setting.
- Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Must be dependable and willing to work over campus breaks, including Winter break, Spring break, and during the summer months.
